It's really bad when you start writing AU stories to your own RPG character's lives. *sigh*. stargatefangurl and I have a couple of Jedi characters who were sort of childhood sweethearts. Since one of them is married now in the RP, it's rather impossible for them to be together, since I can't bring myself to kill off Truen's wife, and there's now a whole series of fics set in the future of the RP in which Talia is present. So, after a bit of scheming, we came up with this idea for an AU in which Sky had returned prior to Truen's meeting his wife.

I know I said I wouldn't fic anything until the end of November, but I felt bad that Nerca was the only person yet to write a story for the current Award Challenge on scifi_five. I wrote the whole thing in a few hours, so I guess it could be considered NaNo practice...? *wink, wink* *shifty eyes*

For anyone who missed the beginning of this tale, Edmindos and Lynae are/were a pair of OC lovers that I revamped for stargatefangurl's fantasy RPG, called Eternal Fire so I don't know if this story should be categorized as fanfiction or original work or what. In any case, the story serves as an introduction to them and their world, a completely original place called Aterium. I've tried to write the story just as I would the beginning of a new novel or something, so anyone who'd like to read shouldn't be confused. (If there is something you "don't get", it's a safe bet to assume that's because I plan on explaining it in the next chapter.)

A very brief glossary of terms.

Adept= A minor deity.
Circle, The= The Seeker's Council; the governing body of Mt. Albur.
Danar= A gold coin, the most common currency in Aterium.
Ethardis=The Capital City of Aterium.
Mt. Albur= The home of the Seekers

Seeker= A wizardish sort, bonded to an Adept.

Well, the summer must really be over now. I'm freezing. I know the summer's been over for some time, but I like to stay in denial about that for as long as I possibly can.

Anyway, I have responses for scifi_five and sg_challenges. I had the idea for sg_challenges yesterday morning, but I didn't actually get it done until today. Too busy writing bios for the new RP characters Jess and I thought up last night. I can't believe I actually wrote a DRABBLE. Me! Not only that, it's from Cam's POV. Don't think I've ever written Cam before. Yay, me. Anyway, I just checked, and Nerca hasn't posted the next challenge yet, so I'm gonna squeeze it in under the wire, simply because I'm VERY proud of myself for writing it.

The scifi_five fic is a continuation of my Ed and Lynae story, Intruder that I've been working on in between aruna7's website headers this week. Next up is the D/V date #2 from Taking the Long Way. I think I'm gonna write it for the A/C challenge on scifi_five.

Well,I'd hoped to have this week's scifi_five story in this post--which, btw, is the post ep for Counterstrike that teddibear gave me--but I've just realized how late it's getting. I'm about 1000 words in and maybe half done, so it looks like this will be a long one.

My brain has decided to start using Edmindos and Lynae for future challenges on scifi_five. This afternoon I finished the story I've been writing for the challenge over on the EF board. It's going to be a series the beginning of a series, so I've decided to post it here for the benefit of anyone who ends up reading Ed/Lynae stuff on scifi_five. I do hope, however, that this series doesn't turn out to be a very long one since I've also pretty much figured out the plot for my third D/V AU series.

That as yet unnamed series will most likely be longer even than Rediscovered Hearts, so everyone who was so kind in saying that they were sad to see the series end can relax and start anticipating things to come for Daniel, Vala, and Manda--oops, and Nicky too. heh.

Well, I seem to have gone on a little Star Wars jag...Thanks to Sarah, I've been listening the movie soundtracks, and they inspired me to actually finish this. It's a short fic related to my Jedi Master character on the Knight Command RPG board, so may not be of interest to anyone who doesn't play there, but just in case. The game is set about 500 years post RotJ, and this is the story of Truen's return to the temple following the final battle in a full scale war between the Jedi and the Sith. In said battle, both Truen and the Dark Lord, Tardin, were hurt, but neither managed to kill the other.
